Love Chiikawa? Want to create your very own 3D cartoon character—and even make it sing? The Singing Chiikawa 3D Figurine Creation Workshop will guide you from scratch through 3D modeling, 3D printing, and interactive Micro:bit programming, helping you bring your own singing Chiikawa character to life.
Course Overview
Using the beginner-friendly 3D modeling app Nomad Sculpt, participants will learn how to design and sculpt a Chiikawa character digitally. After completing the model, you’ll prepare it for 3D printing and bring it into the real world using an FDM 3D printer. Finally, you’ll integrate a Micro:bit and speaker module to add sound and make your character interactive—resulting in a one-of-a-kind creation.
This is a small-group, flexible-schedule workshop. Our experienced instructors will provide personalized guidance based on each participant’s progress.
Course Outline
(5 sessions, 2 hours each)
Session 1｜Introduction to 3D Modeling & Character Design
- Learn the basics of 3D modeling and printing
- Explore the Nomad Sculpt interface and tools
- Begin creating the base structure of your Chiikawa character
Session 2｜Detail Sculpting & Character Shaping
- Add facial features, accessories, and other details
- Refine proportions and final pose for your model
Session 3｜Print Preparation & Model Export
- Optimize model structure for printing
- Export to STL and understand slicing software
- Prepare and schedule the 3D print
Session 4｜Micro:bit Sound Interaction
- Learn basic Micro:bit programming
- Implement simple sound playback with speaker integration
Session 5｜Assembly & Creative Painting
- Assemble the printed model with Micro:bit components
- Paint and decorate your figurine with provided tools
- Showcase and share your finished creation
