We have introduced how to install Autodesk Fusion 360 for free! , so that friends who are interested in starting 3D modeling can install Fusion 360 Personal Edition for free and try the fun of 3D modeling. But recently, Autodesk announced a new restriction: if Fusion 360 Personal Edition users have not logged into Fusion 360 for at least one year, the design files stored in Autodesk may be deleted.
In view of this, here are three suggestions for your reference, hoping that you can avoid the tragedy of wasting your efforts:
1. Set up a recurring calendar
The easiest way is to set a calendar that repeats every 11 months as a reminder. Autodesk says that every time you open Fusion 360, its 365-day countdown resets. So if you log into Fusion today, set a calendar that repeats every 11 months (yes, 11 months), and you're safe.
Why is the reminder set to 11 months, and not 12 months? That way, if you don't log in before the exact deadline, there will be a grace period, just like there is an automatic 30-day grace period.
2. Export the design file and save it on your computer
Reduce the limitations and reliance on cloud storage, and export all design files, save them as .F3D file format suitable for most Fusion designs, and save them on your computer hard drive. When you need to open the file, open the design file by importing the file.
Related file formats:
Fusion 360 saves projects in one of two file formats. Here is how Fusion 360 describes them:
.F3D: Archive file for a single design workspace
.F3Z: An archive file of a distributed design, including all external design references. An F3Z file is a ZIP file that contains one or more F3D files.
As a rule of thumb, Fusion 360 will automatically determine whether you need to save as .F3D or .F3Z.
3. Pay monthly or annual fees to avoid restrictions
Just pay an annual or monthly fee and don't worry about new login storage requirements or other minor restrictions imposed on free users.
Friends who have already started to create their own 3D models in the free personal version of Fusion 360 should pay attention to the limitations. Friends who have not yet started can also immediately participate in our Autodesk Fusion 360 crash course or double-sided workshop to get to know the charm of Fusion 360!
